"We must return to our origin and go back to the sea of Bodhi. That’s why we publish a magazine called 'Vajra Bodhi Sea.'"

 

 

For more than fifty years, Vajra Bodhi Sea has been the official magazine of Dharma Realm Buddhist Association (DRBA). Every month, Vajra Bodhi Sea publishes in a bilingual (English/Traditional Chinese) format: new translations of Mahayana Buddhist texts; commentaries from our founder the Venerable Master Hsuan Hua; biographies of patriarchs and other key historical figures who have influenced Buddhism throughout the eras of time; Dharma talks and articles written by Buddhist monks, nuns, and laypeople; reports from activities related to events at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas and other DRBA branch monasteries, practice groups, and locations around the world; and updates related to Buddhist education from Dharma Realm Buddhist University and Instilling Goodness and Developing Virtue Schools.
Vajra Bodhi Sea aspires to help all who read it to bring forth their bodhi resolve and deeply connect with the Buddhadharma in a way that meets their deepest potential to realize the ultimate awakening.  It aspires to do this by supporting and articulating the Venerable Master Hua’s four legacies to help establish the authentic and orthodox Dharma to become deeply rooted in the West including: establishing fully ordained Sangha in the Mahayana tradition in the United States and beyond; educating the next generation by establishing schools and a university based in the Buddhist tradition; translating the teachings of the Buddha first into English and then to all the other languages of the world; and finally, engaging in intra-Buddhist and interfaith dialogue to ensure peace and harmony among the various religions and people of the world.  

The editor also welcomes reader submissions for articles that align with the vision and scope of the magazine.  vbs@drba.org
